Mason Locke was a firefighter of Truck 81 at Firehouse 51 in Chicago Fire. He transferred to Minnesota.

Biography

A fire breaks out at a party, and a mystery man, later revealed to be Mason springs into action. He manages to save the lives of several partygoers, and the 51 is so impressed that he seeks him out.

Mason tells Herrmann that he's from Colorado and moved to Chicago in order to be with family. He gained firefighting experience from a prison program, which has definitely made it tough for prospective jobs. Mason's felon status has kept him from being a civilian firefighter.

Mason seemingly disappears, making his reappearance such a pleasant surprise. Kidd is initially reluctant to consider Mason for the job, given his status as a felon, and looks at other candidates. Herrmann pushes for Mason nonetheless, calling him a "natural firefighter".

In the end, Kidd caves and comes to see Mason as the perfect fit. She even dubs him the "missing piece" of the 51.
